Community Involvement

God told the people of Israel whom He had sent into exile in Babylon to "seek the shalom (peace/prosperity/wholeness/holistic health) of the city to which you have been sent and pray for it, for if the city has shalom, you too will have shalom." (Jer. 29:7)

This principle which is seen throughout Scripture is something we take seriously at RHF. We believe strongly that we are to be in the community for the community. This means we must make “social responsibility in our city” a non-negotiable. Most volunteerism encouraged by churches seems to focus on serving the church itself--however, we want to direct it more outward to benefit and bless the surrounding community. Accordingly, we are cooperating in special ways to serve our community directly:

1. Share Inc - Pastor John started a values-driven non-profit to meet underserved areas of need in our community (click here to see Share Inc's Mission/Values).  The first area of development was to establish a Furniture Bank (see www.shareyc.org for how to donate furniture and household items).

2. We are involved (with many other churches) in the starting of Love INC of Greater McMinnville and the West ValleyLove in the Name of Christ (Love INC) is a nationally-proven model that networks local churches, church volunteers, and community service organizations to better help people in need. The mission: To mobilize local churches to transform lives and communities in the name of Christ. Through Love INC, churches and individual Christians are mobilized to work together, across denominational lines, to provide coordinated help to struggling neighbors. Love INC is more than a few passionate individuals. It is the local Body of Christ unified to show our community Jesus (John 17:21). If you remove churches and church volunteers from Love INC…Love INC ceases to exist.

We are always open to supporting individual's passions and calls to serve our community. Contact Pastor John to see how we may be able to help you.
